Richmondshire Leisure Trust is a registered charity that provides leisure activities and community development services. This provision is delivered from Richmond Swimming Pool, Colburn Leisure Centre, Liberty Health Club and South Park Café Darlington. Our staff work tirelessly to bring together members of the community to foster both mental and physical wellbeing.

Casual Leisure Assistants (Wet Side)

(Various hours available) Salary meets NMW

Based at Richmond Swimming Pool, we are looking for highly motivated,
enthusiastic individuals to work in the role of lifeguard at Richmond Pool.
Duties will include but are not limited to; ensuring the safety of all swimmers,
keeping all the facilities clean, attending training, occasional work on reception
and ensuring that the highest standards of service to the public are
maintained. Candidates must be flexible and prepared to step in at short
notice if required. There are various work patterns available but all will include
mornings, evenings and weekends. Applicants will also be expected to provide
holiday cover where necessary.


Applicants should be physically fit, capable swimmers and must possess a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) & first aid qualification. Additional qualifications such as Pool Plant Operators Certificate and Swimming Teaching Certificates are desirable but not essential.

Maintenance and Car Park Assistant

(Part time – hours to be agreed)

Salary up to £7.83 per hour depending on age and experience
Based at Richmond Swimming Pool we are looking for highly
motivated individuals to work in a dual role covering general
maintenance duties across all of the sites operated by the Leisure
Trust whilst also being a part of the team that monitors the car park
at Richmond Swimming Pool. Duties will include performing general
repairs and basic maintenance tasks at all sites, grounds
maintenance duties including gardening, weeding, tidying and
cleaning and monitoring parking compliance in accordance with our
regulations, issuing warnings and penalty tickets where necessary.


Candidates should be approachable, friendly and flexible, smart in
appearance with basic DIY skills and ideally previous experience in
a similar role. Holding a valid driving license and having access to a
vehicle is essential as the successful candidate will be expected to
travel between and transfer equipment across all of our sites. The
working pattern is to be confirmed but will include some mornings,
afternoons and weekends. Applicants will also be expected to
provide holiday cover where necessary.
